Martin Steinmann, also known as “the man with the hat”, is the 15th generation of his family to run a winery in the village of Sommerhausen (just opposite of Winterhausen).

The vineyards of Juliusspital, which are among the best sites in Franconia, stretch over 100 kilometers across the Franconian Triassic - with wines from the Würzburger Stein, Iphöfer Julius-Echter-Berg and Volkacher Karthäuser, Juliusspital calls itself the “largest Silvaner winery”.
